FAQ
Find answers to common questions about adding stamps to PDF documents, digital stamping, security, and more.
Can I add a stamp to PDF online?
Yes, StampDocs lets you add digital stamps to PDF documents online without installing software. Simply upload your PDF, choose or upload a stamp, and click to place it. The process takes just seconds and works entirely in your web browser. No downloads or installations required.
Are my documents secure?
Absolutely. All PDF files and stamp images are transferred over HTTPS encryption and are automatically deleted shortly after processing. We never use your PDFs for training, and we do not store your documents longer than necessary to generate the stamped PDF. Your privacy and security are our top priorities. Our platform is GDPR compliant and follows industry best practices for data protection.
Can I upload my own stamp?
Yes! You can upload your own company stamp, seal, or logo as a PNG, JPG, or SVG file. For best results, we recommend using high-resolution transparent PNG files so your digital stamp blends cleanly with the PDF background. Once uploaded, your stamp is saved to your account (if logged in) for quick reuse in future documents.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes! StampDocs is fully responsive and works on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. You can add stamps to PDF documents from your smartphone or tablet using any modern web browser. No app installation required – everything works in your mobile browser. The interface is optimized for touch screens, making it easy to place stamps accurately on mobile devices.
How many PDFs can I stamp for free?
Our free plan allows you to add stamps to 3 PDF documents per day at no cost. No credit card or registration required for basic use. If you need to stamp more documents, we offer affordable Pro plans with unlimited stamping capabilities. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.
What file formats are supported for stamps?
We support PNG (recommended for transparency), JPG, and SVG formats for stamp images. PNG files with transparent backgrounds work best as they blend seamlessly with your PDF documents without white boxes or unwanted borders. We recommend using high-resolution images (at least 300 DPI) for the best quality results.
Can I stamp multiple pages?
Yes! You can place stamps on any page of a multi-page PDF. Navigate between pages using the page controls, click to place your stamp on each page, and our tool will remember the exact position for each page. You can place the same stamp on multiple pages or use different stamps on different pages as needed.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, PDF files can be up to 50 MB in size, and stamp images can be up to 10 MB. If your files are larger, consider compressing them before uploading. Most standard business documents and stamp images are well within these limits. For very large files, we recommend using PDF compression tools before uploading.
Can I resize and reposition stamps?
Yes! After placing a stamp, you can resize it using the resize handles and reposition it by clicking and dragging. This gives you complete control over stamp placement and size. You can adjust stamps as many times as needed before downloading your final PDF.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required for basic use. You can stamp up to 3 PDFs per day without registering. However, creating a free account gives you access to additional features like saving stamp templates, accessing your stamping history, and using team collaboration features. Registration is quick and free.
